Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. OPTIMIZE IMAGE runs the entire compression inside your browser using the Canvas and Blob APIs. Your photo never leaves your device, so there is nothing for us to store, log or leak.

My PNG won't reach 500KB. Why?

PNG is lossless — it cannot discard detail, only re-pack it. Switch the output to JPG or WebP, or let the tool scale the dimensions down.

Is it really free and unlimited?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no per-file limit. Because the work happens on your own device, there are no server costs to pass on to you.
